Zionism

What is Zionism?

Zionism is holding to the belief that there should be a State of Israel — a homeland for Jews. It had its beginnings before World War I when Jesuits in the Catholic Church…
— wanted to establish a Jewish state
— reestablished the Hebrew language
Zionists believe…
— that Christians should support Israel having its own land
— that Christians should support Jews
— follow what they call “Torah” but they have added Kabbalistic and satanic mystical elements from Babylonian religions and others.

According to 1 John 2: 22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.

Zionism is a political movement built on the belief that the Jewish people deserve by right to possess the land of Palestine as their own. Christian Zionism as a modern theological and political movement embraces the most extreme ideological positions of Zionism. They believe that God will restore Israel’s ancient fortunes as a nation in the Promised Land. Accompanying this claim is the conviction that Yeshua the Messiah will rule from Jerusalem and the Jewish people will believe on Him. They see the modern state of Israel, as the equivalent of the biblical Israel, and the forerunner of the return of Yeshua. Christian Zionism has become deeply detrimental to a just peace between Palestine and Israel.

At least one in four American Christians surveyed recently by Christianity Today magazine said that they believe it is their biblical responsibility to support the nation of Israel. Followers of Christian Zionism are convinced that the founding of the State of Israel in 1948 and the capture of Jerusalem in 1967 were the miraculous fulfillment of God’s promises made to Abraham that He would establish Israel as a Jewish nation forever in Palestine.

Because of the power and effects of Christian Zionism on churches and our politics, this teaching should be a concern to everyone. Proponents of Christian Zionism have a major biblical truth that they seem to not realize – they don’t understand who Israel is scripturally.

Many Jews are offended when Christians include Old Testament practices in their daily lives such as observing the feasts and the Passover meal (the Seder). It is considered “cultural appropriation” or “supersessionism” (the idea that Christianity has replaced Judaism.)
